A Calm Moment: Succulents and Water Ripples

I woke yesterday, as did everyone in Northern California, to news that fires had sparked and spread overnight in Sonoma, Napa, and Nevada Counties. My heart goes out to those who had to evacuate and don’t know if their home will be safe when they return.

Natural and manmade disasters have been in the forefront of the news lately, and they’re tragedies that I pray no more of us will ever have to deal with.

When these things cross our news feeds over and over, not to mention if you’re directly or indirectly affected, it’s enough to bring on such a sadness that it’s hard to remember all of the good in the world.

For those of you who are really feeling this in your soul, I’d like to offer you a small respite. It’s not much, but it’s what I can do to help right now in this moment. Art can heal and while I don’t pretend that it can solve every problem, I do believe that it creates a haven in the midst of chaos.

Today, please enjoy this simple painting video. May it bring you a few moments of calm.

I love you all.
