The world is in need of healing and peace right now and art is a beautiful way to help. In the midst of change, we all need time to rest and rejuvenate. When we take care of ourselves, we come back with more energy and can show up for the greater good.
In this piece, I met the canvas with no preconceived notion of where the work would end up. I just wanted to play with paint and collage in a therapeutic way. It was also an example piece for a video tutorial that I filmed about this process, which can be found here.
As I worked on this piece it was chaotic in its first layers as I simply played with the materials. It was busy, and I had to let go and have faith that if I stayed the course and continued to do the work that it would come together. By the end, I created some calm space in the center to allow for visual breathing room. The whole process was a lesson in allowing my intuition to come forward, be patient, play, and trust.
